Hello, we're MagicalWind

A small studio, two games in progress, and a website that finally says so out loud.

MagicalWind is a small collective of friends who make video games together. Until now our games lived in shared folders, and test builds passed from hand to hand. This site is the first place where we show them properly. It also has a small wind spirit called Puff, who insisted.

There are two games on the workbench. TheSeed is a calm game about growing a universe from a single carbon atom. Bullet Factory is a factory game where your production lines make increasingly silly bullets for turrets that defend a wall.

Neither has a release date. We'll post news here when something real happens, like a new build, a trailer, or a date we're confident about.

One thing we want to be upfront about: we use generative AI to translate the text of our games into other languages. The AI & translation page explains what that means and how you can help us fix mistakes.

TheSeed: test build 0.1.1, autosave and a lot of small moments

The current TheSeed test build saves on its own every 5 minutes and has 39 events to stumble into.

The current test build of TheSeed is version 0.1.1. A few things changed since the first builds went around.

Autosave

The game now saves on its own every 5 minutes of active play, and shows a small "Saved" badge in the corner when it does. You can set it to 2, 5 or 10 minutes, or turn it off. It still saves when you quit, go back to the menu, evolve, or choose a branch.

Moments

There are now 39 events spread through the run. Some are quick: catch a falling glint, parry an incoming wave, link stars. Some are choices. A few are rare and big, like a distant supernova, and if you see them they get drawn in your sky as a memory.

Evolving looks better

Every time your world changes stage, the camera pulls back, the colours drain for a second, and the new body appears. Small thing, but it makes each step feel earned.

What we still need

Real people playing it from start to finish. Our test robot finishes both paths, but a robot can't tell us if a stretch feels slow or a choice feels pointless. The translations also still need native speakers (more on the AI & translation page).

Bullet Factory: where the factory stands

Test build 0.3.6 adds wall breaches, Granny Odette's hut and a whole ballistics system.

Bullet Factory is at test build 0.3.6, for Windows, with an Android build we use on our own devices.

Recent changes

The wall is now built in segments. When one breaks, the Rusties walk in and go for Granny Odette's hut, smashing machines on the way. Ruins can be rebuilt for half price.

Each age has its own resources (coal, copper, sulphur, crystal), found further and further west, and processing plants to turn them into ammo ingredients.

Ballistics: bullets can wave, corkscrew, come back like boomerangs or orbit. A ballistic sheet shows the predicted path of a turret and how damage drops with distance.

Odette's hut sits on its own plot. A late skill lets you fly the whole plot somewhere else. Yes, with jets.

What we still need

A full campaign played by actual humans, with a stopwatch and notes. The balance robot wins in about 80 minutes, but robots don't get bored, and they don't laugh at the bullet names.
